About Us
Jamaican Teas Limited, formerly Tetley Tea Company (Ja) Limited, has been producing quality teas in Jamaica since 1967. The company began by manufacturing black tea under the Tetley brand and offering contract production services to other businesses.
In 1995, the company was acquired by the father-and-son team of Adeeb and John Mahfood. Under their leadership, the product portfolio was significantly expanded, and the Caribbean Dreams brand was introduced. Caribbean Dreams offered consumers a distinctive selection of traditional Jamaican herbal teas, natural infusions and unique flavour combinations.
Today, Jamaican Teas Limited produces more than 40 varieties of tea and is recognised as the largest tea producer in the Caribbean. Almost half of the company’s products are exported to markets throughout the Caribbean and North America. JTL also manufactures teas through private-label and contract manufacturing arrangements for several local and international companies.
In 2010, Jamaican Teas Limited became a publicly traded company and was listed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange. Since then, the company has continued to diversify its operations through the development of new product lines and strategic investments in key growth areas.
